Rain Plan

In the event of inclement weather on Friday, a decision will be made by 3 pm Friday, May 12th to move the Class Photo and Ivy Cutting ceremony indoors to H.J. Long Gymnasium.

In the event of inclement weather on Saturday, a decision will be made by 7 am Saturday, May 13th to move the ceremony indoors. Students will receive a copy of the rain plan via email.

Friday, May 12, 2023

5:00 - 5:30 PM – GU CHOIR CONCERT

• Whitlock Music Center

6:00 PM – CLASS OF 2023 PHOTO

• Library Steps

6:15 PM – LINE-UP FOR IVY CUTTING

• In front of Synder Hall

6:30 PM – IVY CUTTING CEREMONY 

• Scott Field
• This is a silent ceremony for traditional students that symbolizes the end of their university life together. Graduating students, please wear your cap and gown.

7:15 PM – LINE-UP FOR BACCALAUREATE

• North side of Whitlock Music Center (facing East)

7:30 PM – BACCALAUREATE 

• Whitlock Music Center
• Baccalaureate is a farewell address in the form of a sermon delivered to the graduating class. All graduating undergraduate and graduate students and their families are welcome.

8:30 PM  – GRADUATE DESSERT RECEPTION

• Dining Commons
• This event is open to graduating students and faculty.

8:30 AM – OPEN SEATING BEGINS

9:00 AM – STUDENT LINE-UP - SOUTH SIDEWALK

10:00 AM – COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY - ALL STUDENTS
